Making an insulation using NEXLER Optimax PV bitumen membrane should be carried out according to the technical design, in accordance with the current building regulations and the detailed guidelines for the design and execution of insulation contained in NEXLER Insulation Systems and the Technical Data Sheet.
Do not carry out insulation work during strong winds and precipitation.
The bitumen underlayer membrane NEXLER Optimax PV should be fixed mechanically using roofing staples or shingles nails with washers or without on wood substrate. Maintain a bituminous felt overlap min. 8 cm wide along the length of the felt strip and an overlap min. 12 cm wide at the joint perpendicular to the length of the felt strip. Longitudinal and transverse overlaps of membrane should be glued in the time of mounting on the roof, and mounting nails visible on the membrane should be sealed. For bonding overlaps it is recommended to use asphalt glues applied in cold state eg. NEXLER Arbolex Aqua Stop, NEXLER Adhesive for Bituminous Felt and Shingles or NEXLER Bitumen Roofing Sealant.
Before fastening counter-laths on the roof, surface of the membrane below them should be sealed with the same bitumen products. On roofs with a slope of less than 50%, the bituminous felt strips are fixed parallel to the eaves, and for slopes above 50%, fixing perpendicular to the eaves is recommended.
If the roofing is applied in adverse weather conditions, additional protective measures must be used.
