Arbolex U

Bituminous felt substrates should be cleaned mechanically, dust, any loose layers, sharp protruding edges and impurities that worsen adhesion should be removed. Sheet metal surfaces should be cleaned, degreased, traces of corrosion should be removed and anti-corrosion protection should be applied.
The concrete substrate intended for product application should be bonded, continuous, dry, seasoned and load-bearing. If there are cavities in the substrate, honeycombing, gravel pockets and other unevenness, the substrate should be levelled and repaired, the cavities should be filled. Any external right angles should be bevelled, and internal angles rounded off. The substrate must be free of frost, ice and water stagnation. A concrete substrate should be primed with NEXLER Penetrator G7.

Check the production date on the packaging before use. The product should not be incorporated beyond its shelf life. The product should not be objectionable (e.g. lumps, discolouration) after opening. After mixing, the compound should be homogeneous and free of lumps and clumps resulting from under-mixing. The correct consistency of the product is not dry or rubbery. When properly mixed, the product forms a homogeneous coating when spread over the surface with a tool.

Arbolex U is a ready-to-use product. A solvent may be released on the surface of the stored product. This does not indicate a defect or poor quality of the product. Before use, the product should be mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
If stored at low temperatures, the product should be placed in a warm room for a minimum of 24 hours before use.

Thickness of a layer should be checked by material consumption control on a dedicated surface. In addition, it is recommended to measure the thickness of the freshly applied sealing layer with special inspection plates. The measurement point should be filled with putty immediately. 
After it has dried, a properly made coating should be a uniform, clean coating, without flakes and other defects. The coating should adhere closely to the primed substrate.

Repair works: Apply Arbolex U with a trowel or putty knife not exceeding a thickness of 2 - 3 mm when applied in a single layer. If deeper unevenness needs to be evened out, it should be done in several working operations, applying each new layer after the previous one has dried.

Gluing, sealing of flashings: Apply an appropriate amount of Arbolex U to the substrate with a notched trowel and press flashing against the substrate after laying it down. When combining flashings with each other, apply Arbolex U with a notched putty knife in parallel to the joint, on at least 5 cm of width (joint width), and after joining the sheets, press them together until the adhesive is evenly squeezed out.

Performing seamless waterproofing: Apply Arbolex U in a minimum of two layers with the notched side of a steel trowel with a 4 x 4 mm notch pattern, then smooth with the smooth side of the trowel. Apply the next layer perpendicular to the previous layer. The thickness of a single layer should not exceed 2 mm. Before the next layer is applied, the previous layer must bind. Cement mortar facets, expansion joints or other areas exposed to uncontrolled cracks or displacements should be reinforced with technical (mesh) fabric.
