Arbolex Aqua Stop

For use on dry, damp and wet substrates. Clean the area intended for repair and filling cavities and the area surrounding it, remove all impurities and anti-adhesion layers - reducing the adhesion. Round out all angles and corners by making a facet with a radius of 5 cm with mortars from the RENOBUD R line (on mineral substrates) or with a radius 2 cm with Arbolex Aqua Stop mixture. 
When bonding flashings to the substrate, clean the sheet, degrease it (e.g. with acetone) and protect it against corrosion. Even out the surfaces of the building partitions, fill the honeycombing, in the case of large losses, make a levelling plaster layer. The substrate must be free of frost, ice and water stagnation. A porous and absorbent substrate should be primed with NEXLER Penetrator G7 primer in order to increase the adhesion of the Arbolex Aqua Stop roofing putty. In case of contact with polystyrene, prime, for example using NEXLER BITFLEX Primer.

Check the production date on the packaging before use. The product should not be incorporated beyond its shelf life. The product should not be objectionable (e.g. lumps, discolouration) after opening. After mixing, the compound should be homogeneous and free of lumps and clumps resulting from under-mixing. The correct consistency of the product is not dry or rubbery. When properly mixed, the product forms a homogeneous coating when spread over the surface with a tool.

Arbolex Aqua Stop is a ready-to-use product. A solvent may be released on the surface of the stored product. This does not indicate a defect or poor quality of the product. Before use, the product should be mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained. It is recommended to store the product at room temperature for a minimum of 24 hours before using at low temperature.

When fresh, check the consumption of the material per unit and/or dedicated area on an ongoing basis. In addition, it is recommended to measure the thickness of the freshly applied sealing layer with special inspection plates, the measurement point should be filled with putty immediately. After applying, a coat should be even, continuous, free from cracks or other damage.

Repair works: Apply Arbolex Aqua Stop with a trowel or putty knife not exceeding a thickness of 2 - 3 mm when applied in a single layer. If deeper unevenness needs to be evened out, it should be done in several working operations, applying each new layer after the previous one has dried. For damp or wet substrates, the mixture should be rubbed in with slow motions to activate chemicals that increase adhesion to damp substrates.

Performing seamless waterproofing: Apply Arbolex Aqua Stop in a minimum of two layers with a steel trowel. Apply the next layer perpendicular to the previous layer. This eliminates accidental discontinuities in the coating. The thickness of a single layer should not exceed 2 mm. Before the next layer is applied, the previous layer must bind. Cement mortar facets, expansion joints or other areas exposed to uncontrolled cracks or displacements should be reinforced with technical (mesh) fabric.

Gluing, sealing of flashings: Apply an appropriate amount of Arbolex Aqua Stop to the substrate with a notched trowel and press flashing against the substrate after laying it down. When combining flashings with each other, apply Arbolex Aqua Stop with a notched putty knife in parallel to the joint, on at least 5 cm of width (joint width), and after joining the sheets, press them together until the adhesive is evenly squeezed out. 

During binding, the freshly applied layer should be protected against precipitation and strong sunlight.
