Dysperbit Primer

Typical substrates are cement, cement-lime, concrete, brick, gypsum blocks, cellular concrete, wood-based boards (OSB, MDF), felts, and bituminous coatings.
The substrate intended for product application must be bound, continuous, seasoned, loadbearing, not frozen. The substrates should be cleaned mechanically, dust, any loose layers, sharp protruding edges and impurities that worsen adhesion should be removed. If there are cavities in the substrate, honeycombing, gravel pockets and other unevenness, the substrate should be levelled and repaired, the cavities should be filled. The exterior right angles should be chamfered (bevelled), while the interior angles should be properly rounded by making facets. On mineral substrates, a facet can be made of mineral mortar e.g. NEXLER RENOBUD R 103 (radius 4 - 5 cm) or PMBC (KMB) compound e.g. NEXLER BITFLEX 1KP (radius 2 cm). On bituminous substrates make a facet of PMBC (KMB) compound. Remove the protective layer (paraffin or other adhesive layers) from wood-based panels. After cleaning, remove any dust and loose particles from the surface (dedust). The substrate should be porous, mattify smooth substrates. If the substrate is uneven, coating material consumption increases significantly.

Check the production date on the packaging before use. The product should not be incorporated beyond its shelf life. The product should not be objectionable (e.g. lumps, fibres, discolouration) after opening. After mixing, the product should be homogeneous and free of lumps and clumps. Do not use a product that bears signs of frostbite. The correct consistency of the product is not dry or rubbery. When correctly diluted, mixed, and applied, the product does not form a surface layer but penetrates into the substrate.

Depending on the type of applied waterproofing and the substrate, a solution of Dysperbit Primer and water should be prepared in a 1 : 9 ratio (as a primer for coatings) or in a 1 : 4 ratio (as a primer for weldable felt). Before commencing the preparation of the Dysperbit Primer solution, assess the amount of the concentrate required, taking into account the consumption of the solution when diluted with water (see the table “TECHNICAL DATA”) and the surface intended for priming.
Prepare only the necessary amount of solution.
Pour a small amount of water (approx. 5% of the assumed amount) into a clean dish of proper size and add the required amount of the concentrate. Mix with a low-speed stirrer and after obtaining a homogenous consistency, add the rest of the water, still stirring for approx. a minute. Use clean, cool water for dilution. The solution thus prepared is suitable for application.

Thickness of a layer should be checked by material consumption control on a dedicated surface. 
A properly primed surface, after the solution has dried, should have a uniform colour, without streaks and discoloration.

Apply the Dysperbit Primer solution evenly to the substrate, in a single layer, with a brush, a paint brush or a roller, rubbing well into the substrate. For very absorbent substrates, apply two layers of the primer.
Freshly primed substrate should be protected from rain, strong fog and frost while drying.
Apply the layers of coat waterproofing immediately after Dysperbit Primer sets (dries).
